What to do When the Power Goes Out
If you are on life support equipment and need a back-up generator for power, please notify Brigham City Light & Power at 734-6615. After hours and weekends, please call the Dispatch Center at 734-3800 or if you have a life threatening emergency call 911.

Power Billing General Information

Utility Billing Payments
Brigham City Administration office accepts all payments for the Light and Power Department.
Brigham City Corporation requires a signature on a work order to establish, transfer or terminate service in Brigham City. You must come into City Offices at 20 North Main as we do not take this information over the telephone. You will also be asked to furnish your social security number as well as picture ID.

If you are renting an apartment or home, or if you have purchased a mobile home, there is a $100 security deposit required. If you are renting or leasing a commercial property in Brigham City the deposit is $500. This deposit is an up front charge and must be paid or service cannot be connected. No deposit is required when you purchase a home or commercial property.

Brigham City's system consists of the following:

  • 89 miles of distribution and transmission lines
  • Two power plants
  • Six substations within Brigham City area
  • Peak demand as of last year is 28 mega watts
  • kWh usage last year: 146 million kWh
  • Total customers served: 6,872
  • Tree trimming service is contracted with Trees, Inc. or Asplundh Trees
  • Power is purchased from Utah Power & Light and Western Area Power Administration.
